The best forms of the season
In this section, I want to present you the most promising hybrid forms of grapes according to the results of tests in each season. In order to somehow limit and thereby tighten the selection, I decided to select the top five hybrid forms per year for further study and testing.
Based on the results of 3-5 years of fruiting, the best of these forms will be selected for the elite. In a brief description, I will try to reflect the most significant characteristics, according to which these forms were selected. Selection criteria according to selection task:
1.Frost resistance and winter hardiness.
Frost resistance at the level of - 27-28 gr.S., while maintaining 50-60% of the eyes; at the level - 29-30 gr.S., while maintaining 20-30% of the eyes. High winter hardiness.
2.Marketability and manufacturability.
High productivity of form and fruitfulness of shoots. Berries size: 8-12 gr. Bunch size: 500-800 gr. Uniform coloration of berries in bunches, simultaneity of crop ripening, early maturation of the vine, weak step-forming ability, etc.
3.Early ripening and high palatability.
Early and very early maturity: 90-110 days. Attractive appearance and color, high taste characteristics.
4.disease resistance.
Susceptibility to diseases and pests at the level of 2-3 points. The possibility of obtaining a crop with 2-3 treatments with chemicals with a low or medium level of toxicity.
5.Seedlessness. Seedless grade 1-2.
